This brochure presents Breath of the Earth, Denise Milan’s solo exhibition at Le Jardin Selva, curated by Marc Pottier. Spread across the Rosewood São Paulo gardens, the Art Library, and select entrance walls, the exhibition unfolds through sculptures and photocollages from the Mist of the Earth series (2012), weaving myth, science, and poetry into a contemplative journey.

Milan reveals the invisible rhythms of life through bronze, stones, fossils, and crystals—materials she guides rather than transforms. Five new outdoor sculptures expand this narrative, drawing on the ancient presence of Stromatolites, 3.5-billion-year-old witnesses of Earth’s first oxygen-producing organisms.

Breath of the Earth invites visitors to traverse the planet’s mineral memory and encounter the vital energy that connects all matter.
